Arundel is a market town in a steep vale of the South Downs, West Sussex, England. The much-conserved town has a medieval castle and Roman Catholic cathedral along with a fair number of listed buildings in West Sussex. The River Arun runs through the eastern side of the town.
Working with LUC landscape architects who are commissioned to review and develop the town’s masterplan, the project also involves the exploration for wayfinding and trail-making. The project, still on-going, seeks to develop a number of trails for visitors, tourists and the Arundel community, which include themes along the lines of heritage, nature, river and community. Artistic interventions and modular sculptural seating with community interpretation is also part of the programme.
