Swansea city centre
A bold, net-zero development in the heart of Swansea, 71 | 72 Kingsway brings together contemporary workspace, retail, food, events and flexible working within a highly adaptable city-centre building.
Designed by Architecture 00, the five-storey, 114,000 sq. ft. development provides space for around 600 people, including 47,000 sq. ft. of Grade A offices, serviced workspaces and a large event hall.
Connection sits at the heart of the scheme – between people, place and nature. Landscaped by The Urbanists, planting extends across balconies and a generous roof terrace, softening the architecture and bringing a living layer to the urban environment.
Richard Wolfströme developed the wayfinding strategy and signage system to support intuitive movement across the building’s varied uses and zones. The design responds directly to the architecture through a restrained soft-industrial visual language, combining bold typography, simple forms and carefully considered material finishes.
Welsh and English information is subtly differentiated through a complementary pastel colour palette, creating clarity without adding visual noise. The system extends from internal directional and identification signage through to a prominent illuminated external sign, giving 71 | 72 Kingsway a confident and distinctive presence within the city.
